Analogue Form Finding
This was an exercise in analogue form-finding using plaster, balloons, wooden dowels, plastic bottles and tape.
We developed a method for creating hollow, stackable shapes through experimentation and exploration.
A balloon is inserted inside another and freshly-mixed plaster is forced between their skins by air pressure.
We pressed the balloons with plaster inside onto previously made ones while they were setting to create the tower.
The project was a collaboration with Sam Jewell.
